bits and snatches

I know I promised not to post political stuff and here I go reneging on that promise.......have you watched the SNL bits featuring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler? If not, visit www.nbc.com and go watch them.......there are two so far and they are dead on hilarious.......I love me some Tina Fey.

Anyway, I've been walking around the blogworld block today and visiting some of my friendly neighborhood blogs. I have a blog list over there in the right hand column that I read daily, and yes I do read every stinkin one of them on the daily.......but I thought I'd try to read one or two that are listed on my favorite blogs bloglists starting today and see if I found some new ones I couldn't live without reading. So far........notsomuch. I won't go so far as to divulge the ones I've tried, but some of them make me say to myself "self, WTF?" And some make me tilt my head like a puppy that just heard a funny sound. So I haven't stumbled upon any new favorites as I am lucky enough to do from time to time so I think I'll stop forcing the issue and hopefully they'll drop into my lap (read: be recommended by YOU in my comments section).

Big One got her name in the Behavior Book again........she STILL hasn't figured out that if she doesn't tell on herself when that happens, we probably would never know unless it was something so bad it sent her to the principal. So here she is racking up punishment when really she doesn't have to.......but it's funny (not funny HA HA funny......just interesting funny) how EVERY time she gets the old name in "the book", when I pick her up in the afternoon the very first thing she does is tell me ALL about it and how it is usually never HER fault that it's in there.....but you can almost physically see the relief jumping off her back as she tells me...the relief to get it off her chest, to take her punishment and move on. It's like the weight of the world has been lifted and she almost never complains about her punishment either. She takes it like a man so-to-speak.....

Little One is getting over the sinus infection and cough and is slowly morphing back into the sweet smiley face baby that we all know and love. She's also trying to learn to crawl and it is both cute as hell and scary as hell.........

Let the childproofing begin.....

weekend fun and games

so the weekend didn't go entirely as planned because Big One woke up Saturday morning vomiting everywhere.........and my initial reaction WAS NOT "oh no, my baby is sick"......MY initial reaction was "dammitalltohell there goes my f 'n free time.....shit". Before you say anything, I know......that was mean and hateful and I am going straight to hell, but in my defense, I get little to NO free time EVER and I was SOOOOO looking forward to the one night and one full day of mini-less bliss.

yes, I do love my kids.....why do you ask?

it turned out the Mamaw didn't care that the Big One was not feeling top notch and wanted them to come spend the night anyway......good for me! The only catch was that plans had changed and now I was going to have to bring them to her, which meant an hour there and an hour back and a lot of gas in the gas hog Sequoia that I drive. Normally this would not have been a problem because I didn't care how much it was gonna cost me, I WANTED my free night, but here in NC there is an ACTUAL gas shortage and there is no gas........NO GAS......none.......ANYWHERE and I only had 1/2 a tank. SHIT FUCK DAMN.......I have to come up with a plan............

HUDDLE UP!

after conferring with our neighbor friends that were equally excited that I had a night off and were ready for some fun time and were also supposed to be tailgating with us for the game Sunday, shock of all shocks.......the Husband came up with an actual plan........AND BREAK!

The plan was that since diesel fuel seems to be unaffected by the gas shortage I would drive the minis to Mamaws in our neighbor's big honkin ass jacked up dually chevy pick'em up truck that takes diesel fuel.....

Wha?

you want me to drive a big honkin ass jacked up dually chevy pick'em up truck with my mini's strapped inside an hour down the road to Mamaw's when I do good not to take out our mailbox with the Sequoia on a daily basis and cannot seem to stay on my driveway to save my ass.............

have you met me? have you seen me drive my OWN car? and you want me to drive THAT?

........the response was befuddled laughter from the Husband and the neighbor and then this....."well, it's either that or WE'LL take 'em" (about a sixpack a piece into Saturday night already)

"or not" I say and take off down the road with my mini's strapped in their car seats in the back seat of my gas needing Sequoia.....

Sunday was too much fun for one day, even though I got no sleep Saturday night because deep inside I was worried about my little minis needing Mommy (but I got over by Sunday morning)

Sunday we got up and picked up the neighbor friends Kevin and Britney (swear to God I'm not making that up......those are their real names) and went out to breakfast. Then we came back and put on our game gear and coolered up and then the Federlines (I kid, that's not their real last name.....but that's what we call them) picked us up in the big honkin' ass jacked up dually chevy pick'em up truck that I spoke of earlier and it was off to watch the Dirty Birds (falcons) get their ass handed to them.

We tailgated redneck style in the parking lot and got burnt to a crisp (forgot my sunscreen) while enjoying food and adult beverage in the hot sun and proceeded into the stadium about 12:30. While tailgating (there were others there besides the four of us neighbors) one girl had to pee (not me, I swear) and jumped into the truck and peed inside a Solo cup.......didn't spill a drop....that takes talent.......We played ladder golf and tossed the football around and just generally had good time

The same girl that used a Solo cup for her bathroom smuggled airplane bottles of Wild Turkey into the stadium in her bra (5 of them....) to get her through........oh yes she did..

the husband and I have season tickets so we parted ways with everyone and went to our respective seats for the game. At about the 2 minute warning in the 4th quarter the Husbands cell phone kept ringing and he finally picked up and it was our VERY VERY drunk neighbor(s) ready to go. So we meet them outside and proceed to the car........the walk from hell with a very drunk person. It's almost like he's never been around other people.....it was both annoying and embarrassing.......

and guess who ended up driving us all home in the (say it with me) BIG HONKIN' ASS JACKED UP DUALLY CHEVY PICK'EM UP TRUCK........

Friday Fragments

Friday Fragments?

I'm doing Friday Fragments today......thanks Mrs.4444

1. I've been sick as a dog all week thanks to the Little One's shared creeping crud, but as bad as I've felt I feel even worse complaining when my Grandmother was just put under Hospice Care at the Nursing Home she's in.......

2. Little One was a preemie and I just got word from the fine folks at Caremark Specialty Pharmacy that she is covered 100% for the Synagis vaccine this year......oh yippie skippie you say.......well it is $2000 per dose and she has to get it every month for 5 months to keep from getting RSV....that's $10000........phew! And since she's in Storage every day wallowing in the cesspool of bacteria and virus she'll surely be better off !!

3. My cat died back in April and I've been back and forthing on getting another, I haven't felt ready and getting a dog is like getting another mini and NO THANK YOU to that! I think I'm ready.........

4. I put this in my what do you recommend post earlier in the week, but no one responded.......even though I can see that there is traffic here......it's just that NO ONE COMMENTS DAMMIT......except that cutie patootie A Belle and her Beau (thank you!)
but as I was saying.......I need new flip flops.......help please

5. I'm excited that Big One wants a four wheeler for Christmas and the husband and I put down the deposit yesterday......that was fun and she will be TOO excited. She doesn't really play with toys much

6. It was so windy here in NC yesterday (and the day before for that matter) that we flew a kite and it was pretty darn fun if I do say so...

7. I am IMMENSLY excited about the game Sunday cause not only is it a home game, but we are playing Hot-lanta and I HATE me some FALCONS!!!!! (do NOT get offended......get over it) and we have a babsitter Saturday night and into Sunday so we are going to the game with our friends and tailgating which means food fun and BEER!!!

8. GO PANTHERS!

9. I'm gearing up.....literally......I'm purchasing the gear.......for our 8th Annual Pumpkin Carving Party and I'll do a whole post or three about the prep and party later

10. The Husband got me a bottle of wine (Century to my amazement) and I can't wait to go home and have some!!!

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!!

the new drug

who knows of this new drug Facecrack (read:Facebook)?

Apparently it should come with a warning of some nature because as much as I hate (and I do hate) to admit it, I became addicted to it.....and quickly

A month or so ago my brother convinced me that I needed to join facecrack. I was all....no way, I've heard about those Internet weirdos and I've seen To Catch a Predator....not that I'm a 12 year old girl looking to get some....but still..

and he was all......it's NOT like My Space, well kind of, but not at all.......and after much arguing and arm twisting I reluctantly joined.

if I'm lyin' I'm dyin', the people...errr "friends" came out of the woodwork.....people that haven't even entered my mind in 15 years or more suddenly were all.....OMG YOU'RE ON FACECRACK!! BE MY FRIEND!.....and then they were all......How have you been, what have you been up to and where do you live and blah blah blah husband blah kids blah work blah blah....and in a matter of 15 days just about every person I knew existed in high school was contacting me to be "friends".....I mean, yes I knew 'of' these people, I knew their names and maybe said hello or talked shit about them behind their backs in high school or something and now we are Facecrack "friends"......who'd a thunk it

some of them "want to get together for a drink sometime and catch up".......catch up on WHAT??? We weren't friends then, what makes you think we'll be friends now???? I knew 'of' you and you knew 'of' me, we each knew the other existed at the same school, but who are we kidding, we were never "friends".............

but seriously......I have more friends on facecrack than I have in real life......well I guess technically they are all real life but would we stop and chat had we not 'found' one another on facecrack? Isn't it really a contest to see who has the most "friends"???

Honestly I seriously was addicted to it for a couple weeks......I'm kinda over it now.....as soon as people start sending me "flair" and "little green patch plants" and "be in my Mob for MobWars" requests....I'm done

Too much work that Facecrack. I'm not dedicated enough.......perhaps that's why those people weren't friends with me IRL all those years ago? Hmmmmm.....perhaps I need an attitude adjustment........or maybe I just need a glass of wine?

Storing Your Valuables

The Storage Facility (read: daycare) that I keep the minis in (Little One all day and Big One after school) is the finest in town. It has the highest rating you can receive in North Carolina and it is a great place. I have come to know everyone there, they don't have much turnover and most importantly, I trust them. No matter how wonderful a facility it is, it is full of children, and where there are children, inevitably there are germs. My minis are so giving that they've shared one of these germs with Mommy. Said germ has penetrated my invisible Mommy Shield. You know, the one you are given when you have kids. The one that allows you to, no matter how shitteous you feel, take care of those little minis and power through your day. I'm feeling less than stellar today and what's worse is I get more rest here at work than I do at home so off to work I go to rest so perhaps when I go get the minis out of Storage this afternoon I can feed/diaper/bathe/do homework/cook supper/do laundry/read bedtime stories/wash bottles/make bottles/pack lunches/get clothes ready for tomorrow/etc with my normal bad attitude. I don't even have enough energy to have a bad attitude today. I did go to the Minute Clinic in the local CVS and get some drugs to help lessen the length of time that the creeping crud makes my life suck........

I know you are probably all "how could you put your minis in 'Storage" and "what kind of mother are you".......well, I'm the kind whose life does not REVOLVE around my minis, I'm the kind that loves them dearly, so much it hurts, but also loves to be and act like an adult and have a career that is fulfilling........and well, I like to shop and buy things and eating is pretty cool too, and we like our house and cars and paying our bills on time, so that's another reason I store the minis so I can work.........yes, I'm a working mom, get over it.

The weekend was a lot of Mommy fulfilling the wants and needs of the family and them whining and complaining about the service.........I'm changing my name and moving to Africa.........shhhhh don't tell them where I've gone.......

Geezus H Christ....

take me OFF the speaker phone. I Hate the speaker phone, I hate talking on it, I hate when people put me on it, I just plain Hate it! Pick up the G.D. receiver and talk to me and if you can't do that then send me an email. It irritates me to the point that I will hang up. I hate it that much.......calm down you say? what's your number, let me show you how annoying it can be....

Mornings at my house are just plain horrendous. Not just for me, for everyone involved. First of all Little One has a habit of needing her pacifier (....I am still fashioning my 'strap' idea) at unspeakable intervals throughout the night, usually starting around 3am.......and this could go on every hour on the hour or it could go on every 15 minutes, but rest assured that I don't be doing no restin past 3am...which could have something to do with my "bad attitude" (hi Husband!)
Big One is the epitomy of the Big Bad Wolf in the morning, she is grumpy and whiney and trust me, there is A LOT of huffing and puffing going on....

On mornings when the husband doesn't have to get up to go to work (he works 4 on 4 off so a different 4 days every week) he lays in the bed expecting the rest of us to tip toe around and be quiet.....HA! Not happening son.......I've been up at all hours of the night every night for the past 6 months (the approximate age of Little One) with no help from the likes of you......I'll NOT be quiet and I dare you to say something.....

my morning plays out something like this.....get the mini's up and figure out something Big One will eat, because it never fails that what I've put out isn't what she wanted........feed and diaper Little One......eat your breakfast Big One.......bottles made for Storage (read: daycare) and lunches packed and mini's dressed and diapered and cleaned.....finish your breakfast Big One....and fresh-breathed......and Big One do you have your shoes on? and get myself showered.......hey Big One, PUT your SHOES on......stop everything to entertain Little One for a minute and DAMMIT we have stinky pants......change that diaper AGAIN and hey Big One, if there aren't shoes on your feet by the time I count to three.........and get in here and let me brush that hair, and while I'm at it I should probably think about drying my own hair and YES Big One I know that I'm a nekkid (funny story I'll tell you later).....I haven't found clothes yet......WHERE ARE YOUR SHOES????? and get my teeth brushed and oh shit, the baby wants to lay down, she's getting sleepy and ornery......and DAMMIT carpool will be here in 10 minutes and I'm still a nekkid and hair wet and have to leave here myself in a little bit to drop Little One at Storage for the day and get to work . All without the help of the husband because he is blissfully sleeping in the bed several feet away from the master bath where all this chaos is going on around me.......and Big One I am going to make Little One an only child if you don't put some shoes on your feet....NOW!!!! Geezus H Christ.... (and this is a GOOD morning)

I don't remember signing up for this........I would like to review my documents and perhaps make some amendments.........and I don't even drink coffee. Maybe I should start......does coffee make it better?

And then I get to work........and I forgot my lunch FUCK!

Pharmacopia

Am I just unable to read the measuring syringe correctly to administer medication to my minis or what?
Seriously there is never and I do mean NEVER the right amount of medicine in the bottle to last for the 10 or 14 days they want me to give it to them....i.e. if I am instructed to give Little One the antibiotic twice a day for 14 days by administering 4ml on the syringe and I have been doing it in exactly that manner......why do I only have like one or two doses left in the bottle and it's not even been a week yet?????? I'm always short medicine for those two.....SURELY I cannot be the only one this happens to? Am I overdosing my kids......are you calling social services right now?
I use a pharmacy that is located inside my very favorite store EVER, it begins with a 'T' and ends with an 'arget'........I don't want to call anyone out specifically you see.......
Now, the pharmacist specifically told me I may have extra left and to just throw it away.....she was fucking with me wasn't she......that's just mean.......

Are you calling social services for real? You are aren't you........

Shut.Up!

SHUT.UP I say to the mysterious caller on the other end of my lifeline (read:cellphone) this morning........it's the husband and he is AT THE GROCERY STORE. AGAIN!
Seems he forgot something on the list I "left" for him yesterday (shhhhh.....that's our secret) and wanted to know if there was anything else he could get while he was there.
Seriously, I say, who is this?

Big One got her name put in the Behavior Book yesterday at 1st grade. Seems when the teacher told the class to quiet down and quit talking (read: SHUT.UP), my 1st grader decided this didn't mean everyone, just the ones that weren't too busy telling everyone else at thier table (hello Big One...) what to do. Well, in the Said So house you are rewarded for good behavior and by having a good week at school you get to pick something from the Treasure Box or have some other form of surprise on Friday evenings. Big One has been just DYING for this damn Hanna Montana bear at Build A Bear and I told her last week if she had a good week for two weeks in a row that we would go to Build A Bear since she has been a very good big sister and helps me a lot. (you see where this is going right?) Well, fits were thrown when I informed her that her Build A Bear trip was now out (damn it, he he) since she got her name in the Behavior Book. BUT BUT BUT MOOOOOMMMMMM......I've been so good....
Yes, yes you have but we cannot go now because today you were bad. Trying to make her understand was a sad little battle and she is sooooo pissed at me now. She was even MORE pissed at me when we got home and I told Daddy about the Behavior Book and he promptly took away her "ride" for the day (they ride the 4wheeler in the neighborhood and 'forest' as she calls it in the evenings). Well, you seriously would have thought that someone just murdered Hannah Montana or the Jonas Brothers were lost at sea. She was more upset about losing her ride with Daddy than she was about the Build A Bear thing. She was CRUSHED. But, even this morning when she came downstairs all grumpy and whiney like she does, she was still so pissed at me for being the bad guy......it's apparently ALL MY FAULT. I told her that it is my job to ensure that she grows up with a sense of responsibility for her actions and she will thank me one day. Today will not be that day. They don't call me the Meanest Mommy In the World for nothing kid....

She lives for the 4wheeler rides with Daddy. She's been wanting one of her own for a couple years now. She's not a doll-playing, barbie-loving, tea party kind of girl. She's an outdoors, 4wheeler, swingset, trampoline, swimming kind of girl. She doesn't even own a doll. Not one. But she LOVES her stuffed animals with a passion. But interestingly enough, she is prissy in the way she dresses and MUST have painted toenails at all times and is very into lip gloss these days, can't leave the house without "lips". So she's a pleasant mix of the two I guess. I keep hoping she's inherited my love of football, but it's not looking good in that department.

Oh, and as we are waiting for her carpool ride this morning she turns to me and she says Mommy, what is entrapment?

HUH????

Alert the media.....

So as I left the Disaster Area this morning balancing Little One on one hip while she tries to grab everything within reach (my earrings, necklace, keys, hair.....you get the idea) of her chubby little hands and my purse, keys, lifeline (read:cellphone), bottle bag for daycare, extra diapers for her cubby, an extra change of clothes for her, my breakfast AND my Dr. Pepper......I forgot the list of things I needed to run by the grocery store and get on my way home today.

The daycare frowns upon you being later than your scheduled time to pick up your minis by even 5 minutes so I need a plan. HUDDLE UP....and the plan was to duck out of work under the guise of needing to make a post office/bank run before I pick up the minis thereby giving me 10 or so minutes to run in the Teeter Totter (my Grandma's name for Harris Teeter......bless her, she can't remember Harris Teeter) and pick up said items.....PLAN MADE......and BREAK

Much to my utter amazement and surprise the husband.....MY husband (who happens to be off work today lucky bastard) called me FROM the grocery store to see if there was anything else I needed other than what was on the list I left for him.............insert screeching needle on record sound here.........WHAT?? Are you lost honey? Did you just say you are AT the grocery store? Did you just say the list I LEFT for you? (note to self..forget list more often)...Oh yeah, that list that I most certainly MEANT to leave on the counter for you since you often do me favors like that......

ALERT the media......seriously....this kind of shit DOES NOT happen in the Said So house. Mommy is usually always and I do mean always the grocery getter, in fact I didn't know his truck could actually turn into the parking lot of a grocery store never mind him actually get out to go inside and purchase groceries.....this is a day that will go down in history, cause lets see, we've been together 12 years and married 8 of those 12 years and he has never ever ever offered or gone to the grocery store for me or him in all those years (aside from the beer runs girls....) and I'm sure it will be 8 to 12 more before it happens again.

this is me being thankful for the small things.........and this is me realizing that he's thinking he's gonna get some tonight..........now it all makes sense.......

The Gettin' Place

This weekend was pretty chill at the Said So household. Big One had a sleepover with her BFF on Friday night and that gave me a little time Saturday morning to do a quick clean up of the downstairs portion of the Disaster Area I like to call my home.

Little One was attached to my hip....literally.....most of the day Saturday which made for a VERY sore left arm on Sunday.

Big One will often ask me "Mommy, where did you get 'insert this or that'?" For example any time I get her a surprise of any kind that is the first question or a new shirt or shoes or anything, she ALWAYS asks "where did you get 'insert item here'?". My typical answer if it is some kind of little surprise is "I got it at the gettin' place" because quite often I can't remember where I got it or don't have the time to go through the barrage of questioning that usually goes with this so the gettin' place is usually my answer......there is of course no 'Gettin' Place its just something I've always said and she has always let it go at that. I usually just say it and we move on, she doesn't even get that I'm being a smart ass and as I learned yesterday, evidently she thinks this is a REAL place. I gave her this sucker yesterday that came from some foofy little boutique that I was in with my Mom a couple weeks ago and stashed it away for a surprise on a good day. It was blueberry flavored and had a really long clear stick and it was kind of clear-ish blue and shaped like a teddy bear, it was cuter than my description, trust me.....She loved it, LOVE loved it and automatically she says "Mommy WHERE did you get this cool sucker???"........and as is my typical response "Big One, I got it at the gettin' place" and that was that, nothing else was said, moving on end of story......Well, when Daddy got home from work she comes skipping into the living room and says "DADDY.....LOOK at my AWESOME sucker......Mommy got it at the gettin' place" and I BURST out laughing my ass off FOR REAL....and so did he........it was SO funny the was she said it and was so serious and happy and how cute it was that she didn't get what a smart ass I was being.....

sorry, was that only funny to me??

Sunday was of course football, football and more football with the occasional break to put Little One down or get her up or feed her or diaper her or tend to Big One's whims (which were many on this particular day)......so THANK GOD for TIVO and my 1:00 game lasted until about 7:00pm last night......but I have to say the Panthers rocked it and turned what was looking like a particularly pathetic showing into a really really good game.

Then I bathed and fed the minis and put them in their storage bins for the night......only the Little One had other plans and proceeded to get Mommy up at 11:30, 1:00, 1:30, 1:45, 2:38, 3:38 (so not kidding), 4:00, 4:30, 4:45 and at 5:45 when the alarm went off I felt like I had just gone to bed...oh wait.....I HAD JUST GONE TO BED......FUCK......

So that was my weekend in a nutshell, how was yours?

Tennis Anyone?

Okay, so I'm going to pick up lunch for myself and a couple co-workers......normally I call it in and go pick it up somewhere close by and today it was McAlister's Deli. So I get there and I park in the back because there is always a close spot back there and I can get in and get out quickly through the side/back door. This door that I use is also situated kind of on the 'patio' area outside. So I'm walking up the sidewalk and I can hear the chitter chatter giggling as I come upon the patio. Picture this: me in my cute-as-shit denim capri's with the wide hem and black/white/grey/pink short sleeve argyle sweater and black alligator ballet flats, my chamilia bracelet that I love love love and my other 'regular' jewelry with my hair down and fixed (and I'm having a pretty decent hair day) and my giraffe print dooney & bourke bag (that was a gift.......don't even think I would spend that much on a BAG)....so I'm not looking like shit or anything and MAN did it take up a lot of space to convince you of that!......but anyway, so I'm walking up the sidewalk and there sits a gaggle of ladies (probably 8 or so) in their little tennis outfits eating salads and sipping lemonade tea...I round the corner and its like slow motion or something...they all STOP the chit chat and give me the stinkeye almost on cue in unison.....
I noticed, but I didn't think much of it and strolled in the restaurant picked up my order and strolled back out with a smile and a "thank you so much" to the nice guy that got the door for me.. and on my way out and back down the patio they all, and I mean ALL of them stop what they are doing and just STARE at me....to the point that I wanted to either ask them if there was something on my face or to just simply say WTF is your problem LADIES......never seen an ACTUAL WORKING MOM on your little tennis court? SOME of us DO have to work......mind you my McAlister's is located in the uppity part of town...but DAMN. I don't usually notice crap like that but it was so blatent and they were such beyotch's that I couldn't help but notice and it's not like I was sporting my sweats or something, I thought my ensemble was pretty cuteish today......hurt my feelings......NOT......beyotches. What a bunch of stuck up hookers......
I vow to never act that way, even if I ever do actually win the lottery and have money and 'people' and stuff and further I vow to never wear tennis gear and look the part of the stuck up beyotch......reminded me of high school with the cliques and crap....I mean come on, did I seriously have something on my face???? I must have.......well then the stupid hookers should have said something......it couldn't possibly have been ME

always remember.....

do you remember where you were? what you were doing? who you were with?
I certainly do.....and since you asked.......I was at work typing (on a typewriter no less) a Fed Ex International label for a shipment to our head office in Japan. I was 5 months pregnant with Big One. The office I worked in at the time was located about 3/4 of a mile from the airport in Charlotte NC. We got a phone call from a co-workers wife just after the first tower was hit and she told us to immediately stop what we were doing and go to our computers or a TV.....we made it just in time to see the second tower hit......not something I wish to see ever again.....not something you want to see when you are pregnant or working so close to an airport, because at the time who knew that they weren't pulling this shit all over the USA? Who knew what would happen next and where? No one. No one knew and it was scary. It is still scary. It is still heartbreaking and mindless and confusing and seems incomprehensible. I remember almost every single second of the remainder of that day and if it tells you anything, I have a TERRIBLE memory. I was deeply affected, as most people were.
They closed the airport and evacuated everyone within 2 miles surrounding the airport, so we were forced to go home (which was fine with me) and couldn't come back the next day either. It was a terrifying time. It is difficult to find the right words to describe the feeling of that time.
So tell me, where were you? What were you doing? I know you remember, I think we all do.
God Bless the USA

Well after a long day at home with the sick Little One yesterday its been a long day at work playing catch up.....and by that I mean reading blogs, posting on boards, making a new header for the blog....you know, important stuff...surely you didn't think I was actually working?! Well, kind of, I did do a lot of actual work too

There is a little something I must tell you about that I mentioned the other day. If you are not already signed up for mysurvey.com you need to get over there and do it now!! I signed up after reading about it on Sasha's blog and I have to tell you that it's been so very cool. So far I have received a $50 check, paper towels to try and then survey and just yesterday I received a whole package of diapers to try and survey after I'm done with the pack. Very cool. I love money for practically nothing and I know you do too~ Get on over there and try it out! They reward you for taking surveys about the products you use

I'll be back later with a full report but right now I have to go pick up the minis

I'm feeling no lurve here........no one reads my blog but me.......how pathetic am I

is there anybody out there?

well, the title pretty much says it all..............IS there anybody out there?

Does anyone have the Baby First TV channel? what about those three mice....is it me or do they look a little creepy? They don't look like cutesy baby mice should look. They seem a little scary to me.......

I'm feeling a little craptastic today. No sleep....Little One is sick and now I'm feeling notsohot...I'm having a little out of body experience, kind of light headed and dizzy feeling. Not a good feeling to walk around with while carrying a 6 month old on your hip.......maybe I'm dehydrated since all I seem to do these days is drink Dr. Pepper. Perhaps I should try to up my water intake....no?!

Did you watch Oprah's big Olympic special premiere episode....I thought it was kind of lame. I was expecting more. AND....is anyone watching 90210........lets talk about how Brenda HAS NOT aged well AT ALL and has she always had that gap in her teeth??? And do they FEED the younger actresses????Don't they seem a little on the anorexic side?

Looking forward to fall TV for sure. And if I didn't say it before GO PANTHERS!!!! We looked HAWT this Sunday....very proud indeed.......and if you are a Cowboys or Falcons fan......well.......we'll just never get along........kidding....sort of

In case I forgot to mention, she was a preemie so doctor visits have become a constant part of my life, I'll be glad when they all release her.......we are almost there.

Few and Far Between

Little One finally calmed down and the visit turned around and went great. Sooooooo thankful for that.........my "days off" are very few and far between

Big One was pouting because tomorrow is Monday and that means back to school. Honestly, how bad can it be in First grade?????? Suck.It.Up mommy says

Grandma brought them back a little earlier than I had planned which means my game was interrupted 450 thousand times at least.....thank God for Tivo. And speaking of games........GO PANTHERS!!! What an exciting exciting awesome ending to that game....but damnitalltohell the f'n Falcons won....fuckers.....

We had fun playing with the neighbors last night and I stayed up too late and drank too much and hated life this morning.....until I realized I was in MY bed and I was completely ALONE in my house..........que the angelic music......it WAS heaven......until the phone rang and snapped me back to reality and mommyhood...

I only had to say Because I Said So 3 times today. This must be a record of some sort, I'm sure of it.......but how damn cute are they.........seriously........couldn't you eat them!!!
Me thinks me needs to go to bed now........after all tomorrow IS Monday.....dammit

Did you say something?

Shhhhhhh........do you hear that?

That's the sound of SILENCE in my home!!!!

Minis are gone for the night and I can't decide whether to lay around and watch movies or crack open a beer........

Both? Really?

What's that disturbing my silence? The phone.......this could be good or bad

Oh Crap, Grandma just called and the Little One is NOT HAPPY. She's been screaming her lungs out since they got there.......she may be bringing her home.......I feel bad......Little One wants her Mommy. So much for my free time......

Cross your fingers that she calms down......

I KNEW I shouldn't have answered that phone....kidding.....maybe

oh the demands...

So Grandma is coming to pick up the minis.........COME ON ALREADY........the demands and attention these minis require is borderline ridiculous today...

I definately need a break and it will come in the form of a field trip to my favoriteist store ever (Target) and I will follow that up tonight with some beers and adult conversation with the neighbors we've convinced to come out and play tonight!! Mommy is excited!!!

Conversation with my 6 year old this morning...

Mommy can I get in the crib with the baby?

No you cannot

Why?

You are too big and you will break the crib

I'm not too big and I want to get in the crib

No

But it's not fair, I want to get in the crib too.......Why Mommy Why??

Life's not fair Big One

but Mommy..........I promise I'll be careful

No

PUHLEEEEEEEEEEZZZZEEEE Mommy

No

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY????

BECAUSE I SAID SO! and I'm the Mommy

Well I'm telling Daddy...

Go ahead, tell Daddy........we'll see how that works out for you.....

.....slam.......that's the sound of Daddy running out the back door......coward.......

So now it's noon and Grandma is still not here..........I need to find a way to entertain these mini's until she gets here...the anticipation is killing the Big One. Grandma is in for a surprise as the Little One has decided this week that she hates the car seat and it's almost an hour ride back to Grandma's house.............mental note to self.......LEAVE QUICKLY AFTER GRANDMA GETS HERE SO SHE CAN'T BRING THEM BACK!!

It's 12:00....is that too early to start my childless celebration?

There's a first time for everything......

Well, it had to start somewhere right? I've been so into reading other people's blogs and thinking how therapeutic it must be to get it all out like that....so naturally I think of starting my own "therapy".

I guess I should begin with a little background information. I am a mother of two girls ages 6 years and 6 months. (yes I realize I waited an eternity between children, but you've never met my first baby and YES, dammit, they have the same father) jeez, can't a girl waffle on whether or not she even WANTS another kid??? I actually have had TWO random people ask me in a roundabout way if they had the same father, how fucking rude is that??
.....Don't get any funny ideas.....I'm done now.....no more waffling.....NO MORE KIDS! I made sure that was taken care of before I left the hospital with the second kid......another story for another day.

Besides being a mother I work full time as an Office Manager for my family's business that is 125 years old and I am also a professional photographer. I like, no I love football (Go Panthers) and I love photography and I love to laugh (at myself and at you). Since having my second mini (I call my kids the mini's, not unlike Clemsongirl......but I didn't steal that from her I swear) I don't have a lot of 'me' time and I'm going nearly insane. This insanity perpetuated my need for a new outlet and 'poof' a blog is born.

I promise to try to blog daily and I promise to try to be interesting....and I promise to never ever ever discuss politics or religion.

Now that we have that out of the way. Did you watch the Republican Convention.....kidding......I won't go there.

Today has been kind of craptastic from the word go, actually it started about 11:30 last night, but that's close enough to 12:00am which is really today.....so get over it. Anyway, the Little One got her 6 month vaccinations yesterday (don't even try to start with me about vaccinations.....I vaccinate.....get over it) and it's pretty much a guaranteed week of crappiness when that one gets shots. I'm wondering if she's going to be a drama queen because it doesn't seem like the Big One had this many issues when she got her vaccinations. But I digress, that Little One was up fussing and snotty and feverish ALL damn night. Which means Mommy is up all damn night.....where was Daddy you ask? Oh, well, Daddy was peacefully sleeping downstairs in our extremely comfortable bed alone while Mommy camps out in the Little One's room on the daybed with the mattress made out of a cardboard box filled with cement and gravel...okay that might be a slight exaggeration, but I didn't pick that mattress and it SUX people....it sux in a major way. Don't get me started on my worthless husband. It's Friday, and we just met....let's save something for later. So I'm guessing Little One will sleep all day at daycare so she can stay up all night again for Mommy. I can hardly wait......fun times, fun times.

So I'm definately ready for the weekend.......I have a babysitter, an overnight one Saturday night and it is ON people.....Mommy is going to either get her party on or get her sleep-in-her-own-bed on.....perhaps a little of both.... AND the Panthers play San Diego Sunday for the regular season opener and I'm excited. FOOTBALL, BEER AND NO MINI'S for the day!!!! WOO HOO!!!

I'll let you know how it goes......
